Apprentice Mark Sloane joins the Paddington team

Mark Sloane (17) from Toxteth undertook a 10 week work experience placement with Morgan Sindall in December 2017 as part of a Traineeship programme at Blackburne House in Liverpool. Mark made such a good impression that he has now begun a full time apprenticeship facilitated by local Shared Apprentice Scheme provider Calico.

Mark is currently working with Morgan Sindall’s groundworks sub-contractor Will Nixon Construction Group on the Paddington Village enabling works project. Working towards his NVQ Level 2 in General Construction Operations, Mark spends four days of his working week onsite with Will Nixons, with the remaining day studying at the City of Liverpool College.

Mark remarks, “I’ve taken part in similar schemes in the past, but there haven’t been any real opportunities for me to work towards. The work placement has given me a real ‘foot in the door’ and I’m thrilled to now be on a formal apprenticeship working with Will Nixon. Paddington Village is an amazing first project to work on and I’m excited to be part of such an important project in Liverpool.”
