The groundbreaking ceremony for Kaplan’s international college at Paddington Village took place on Tuesday 26th September. This marks the start of the £28m project for Kier which comprises of a 13-storey accommodation block and a three-storey college building for up to 900 students for the college.
The project will be a flagship development in the Liverpool Knowledge Quarter’s £1bn Paddington Village district. It marks our second project in the area, building on the success of the recently completed Sensor City project for Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool.
The main speakers at the event were Councillor Nick Small, Deputy Mayor of Liverpool, Colin Sinclair Chief Executive of the Knowledge Quarter and Linda Cowan from Kaplan.
The event marked the tenth anniversary of Kaplan and their association with the University of Liverpool. It also highlighted the wide range of courses on offer to the international community, and showed off the new International College, the first development at the new Paddington Village Site.
The photographs below show the Kier team along with representatives from CPMG, Curtins and Kaplan and the artists impression of the finished building.
